Assignment Guidelines

1. Task

   • Review and summarize the organizational model and structure for your employer/organization or an allied health organization in your chosen field.

   • Identify what works well in the model and contributes to performance.

   • Identify what does not work well or at all.

   • Suggest changes you would make if you had authority, and explain why.

2. Length & Format

   • Typically, discussion posts should be around 250–300 words (unless otherwise instructed by your professor).

   • Write in paragraph form (not bullet points), clear and professional.

   • Use APA 7th edition for in-text citations and references.

3. Sources

   • Provide a minimum of two references from:

     • GCU Library (preferred)

     • Scholarly sources (peer-reviewed journal articles, books)

     • Government websites (.gov, WHO, CDC, etc.)

4. Content Requirements

   • Summarize the organization’s structure (hierarchical, matrix, flat, etc.).

   • Evaluate strengths: what helps performance, efficiency, or communication.

   • Evaluate weaknesses: what creates inefficiency, delays, or confusion.

   • Propose improvements: explain what you’d change and why (with evidence or reasoning).

5. Engagement

   • Respond to classmates (usually minimum 2–3 responses, 100 words each).

   • Be constructive and respectful in tone.
