·

A 900-word assignment, you need to document one negative leadership trait for each of the three kings in the Merida book pages 1-131. Each trait and related king should be unique.

Cite and document from two scholarly sources for each trait/king (six (6) total sources) to explain why a given trait is negative. Limit your literature search to the last five years and select only sources that are full text. As part of this project, prepare an annotated bibliography with six required unique scholarly sources. Three resources have already been provided. Resources must be peer reviewed.

The bibliography must be structured as follows: APA formatted reference (minimum 250 words for each Annotated Bibliography entry) followed by summary of key points, evaluation of the quality of the publication, evaluation of the quality of the author(s), where this fits into the assignment, and the library database in which you found the article. No plagiarism is allowed.

The paper should be in Times New Roman 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.

The format of the paper should be as follows:

  • Title Page

  • Abstract

  • Narrative

  • References

  • Annotated Bibliography

Here’s a clear step-by-step guide to help you complete this assignment without stress:

Step 1: Understand the Task

  • You are writing a 900-word academic paper.

  • The focus is on the three kings in Merida (pages 1–131).

  • You need to identify one unique negative leadership trait for each king (no repeats).

  • For each trait, you must back up your analysis with two scholarly sources (6 total).

Step 2: Structure Your Paper (APA format)

  1. Title Page

    • Include assignment title, your name, institution, course, professor, and date.

    • Example: Negative Leadership Traits in the Three Kings of Merida

  2. Abstract (150–200 words)

    • Summarize what your paper covers: each king, their negative trait, why it matters, and sources.

    • Keep it concise—this is just a preview.

  3. Narrative (Main Body ~900 words)
Divide into three sections (one per king):

    • Section 1: King One – Trait X

      • Explain the leadership trait (e.g., pride, greed, indecisiveness).

      • Show how it appears in Merida (page references).

      • Support with two scholarly sources (last 5 years).

      • Explain why this trait is harmful in leadership.

    • Section 2: King Two – Trait Y

      • Same structure, but choose a different trait.

    • Section 3: King Three – Trait Z

      • Same structure, final unique trait.

✅ Each section should be about 250–300 words.

  4. References Page

    • List all 6 scholarly sources in proper APA 7th edition format.

    • Include the 3 resources provided + 3 you find.

  5. Annotated Bibliography (6 entries)

    • After your main paper, create a new section: Annotated Bibliography.

    • For each source:

      • Provide the full APA reference.

      • Write ~250 words covering:

        • Key points/summary.

        • Evaluation of the publication quality (peer-reviewed, relevance).

        • Evaluation of author credibility.

        • How the source fits into your assignment.

        • Which database you found it in (e.g., ProQuest, JSTOR, Google Scholar).

Step 3: Research Tips

  • Use your college library databases, Google Scholar, JSTOR, or PubMed for peer-reviewed articles.

  • Search phrases like:

    • negative leadership traits

    • toxic leadership in organizations

    • leadership flaws and consequences

  • Limit search results to 2019–2025 (last 5 years).

Step 4: Writing & Word Count Management

  • Title page & references don’t count in word count.

  • Abstract ~150 words.

  • Narrative ~900 words.

  • Annotated bibliography: each entry ~250 words × 6 = 1500 words (separate from main paper).

Step 5: Editing & Proofreading

  • Double-check APA formatting (citations, references, page headers).

  • Run your paper through Grammarly or your institution’s writing center tool.

  • Make sure each king has a unique trait and you don’t overlap traits.
